SWEEP-UP IN VARIOUS REGIONS, 70 ARRESTS
A wide-ranging operation is underway in Syracuse and various other areas of the country with 70 arrest warrants for mafia-related criminal association, drug trafficking, extortion and usury.
Carabinieri, police, and financial police coordinated by the Catania anti-mafia unit.
The arrests concern the activities of the Bottaro-Attanasio mafia clan.
During the operations various businesses and real estate have been seized which were bought with the proceeds from illegal activities, as well as weapons and 200 kilograms of drugs.
