Macca’s new flame’s father accused over Mafia links
THE father of the US millionairess pictured kissing Sir Paul McCartney was once accused of having Mafia ties.
Nancy Shevell is vice-president of New England Motor Freight Inc, a firm run by her father, Mike Shevell, which was accused of having links with a Genovese crime family almost 20 years ago.
In 1988, US federal officials charged in court papers that the firm “cultivated” an 11-year “corrupt relationship” with Genovese crime family soldier Anthony “Tony Pro” Provenzano.
The case was settled with no admission of wrongdoing by Mike Shevell.
Provenzano, a former leader of the Teamsters union, has been identified as a prime suspect in the 1975 disappearance of ex-Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa.
At the weekend, Sir Paul was photographed kissing Ms Shevell goodbye in the front seat of his car after driving the attractive socialite back to her mansion.
