Mafia godfathers jailed for life in landmark murder trial

An epic trial against one of Italy’s most powerful Mafia families has handed life sentences to four godfathers, decapitating a clan worth an estimated £20 billion.


Francesco Schiavone was arrested by Italian police in 1998

The Casalesi clan, which takes its name from the town of Casal di Principe near Naples, has been described as the successor of the Corleone family, which ruled Sicily in the 1980s. Continue Reading »
