FRANKFURT — A Serbian businessman with ties to the criminal underworld has been arrested in Frankfurt, after spending four years on the run.
Italy’s Ansa news agency reported Thursday Andrija Drašković, considered an heir to Željko Ražnatović a.k.a. Arkan by the Italian judiciary, was arrested on an oustanding international warrant issued by the Bari anti-mafia department. Continue Reading »

An Italian fugitive sentenced to 25 years in prison for a Mafia-related killing was arrested Thursday in southern Romania, police said.
The suspect, Antonio Constantin, is suspected of being a senior member of the Sacra Corona Unita, a criminal group operating in southern Italy, said Paolo Sartori, a police liaison with the Italian embassy in Bucharest. Continue Reading »

Bernardo Provenzano, the former boss-of-all-the-bosses of the Sicilian Mafia, used to send his murderous instructions via public transport, it emerged yesterday.
Mr Provenzano, 74, was captured in his hideout near the town of Corleone last April. At the site, the police discovered hundreds of pizzini, or typed instruction letters, from the Godfather to his fellow Mafia dons. Continue Reading »
