Man who helped bug the Mafia dead at 70

Mafia soldier Angelo “Sonny” Mercurio, who helped the FBI land the first-ever bugging of a mob induction ceremony, has died in Little Rock, Ark., where he lived in the federal witness-protection program, relatives said yesterday.

The 70-year-old former member of the Patriarca crime family died on Dec. 11 of a pulmonary embolism, relatives said. Continue Reading »

A superseding indictment was unsealed this morning in federal court in Brooklyn charging nineteen members and associates of the Bonanno organized crime family of La Costa Nostra, including two members of the Bonanno family’s administration – Bonanno family acting underboss NICHOLAS SANTORA and Bonanno family acting consigliere ANTHONY RABITO. This superseding indictment is the latest in an ongoing investigation that has resulted in the prosecution of more than 100 members and associates of the Bonanno family in the Eastern District of New York. Thanks to Nuri Gündeş

We have been listening to the National Intelligence Organization’s (MİT) former director of the Istanbul area, Nuri Gündeş, for days now. He is a courteous gentleman whom I have known for a while. He is approaching 90. After his retirement in 1986 he remained silent for a very long time. He is currently working on a book. It is maybe because of this that suddenly he started appearing on TV. During his appearances, he talked about what the “deep state” has been in the past and how the state bureaucracy affected situations. Continue Reading »
